If your basement does not have enough headroom to enable it to be made into a livable space, Solid Foundation Systems can lower the foundation through underpinning. Underpinning is a method of extending the existing foundation in depth and width for a variety of reasons:
Solid Foundation Systems will excavate short sections of soil from beneath the existing foundation in a planned sequence. Concrete is then poured into the excavated area to a level close to the underside of the existing foundation. A dry pack cement mixture will then be placed into the gap in order to transfer the load. The adjacent underpinning sections are then excavated and constructed in the same way until the complete length of wall is underpinned forming a new foundation.
In all cases a qualified structural engineer must visit the site to make drawings and assess the circumstances of each site. The structural engineer and local building inspectors will periodically visit and inspect the site as work progresses. Once the excavation and underpinning is completed, a full basement renovation can be undertaken.
Whether your foundation underpinning project requires stabilization support or basement lowering, you will have the right choice and experience with Solid Foundation Systems on your side.
Wet, leaky, damp basements made dry permanently the solid way, from the outside. Prevents water damage, dampness, allergies, mold, fungus, and further damage to the structure of your home or buildings foundation. With our exterior stay dry and do it right foundation protection waterproofing system we will:

For business and homeowners with wet and leaking basements where exterior excavation is limited, Solid Foundation Systems offers our interior wet basement drain tile system that is a great alternative to our exterior system.
Our interior wet basement drain tile system involves cutting your floor 12 to 18 inches from your wall and removing all the concrete, dirt and debris. A trench is then dug down to the bottom of your footing with a proper slope installed. Holes are then drilled in each cylinder of the block wall, removing any water that has accumulated within the wall and allowing it to run down into the trench and through our drain tile system.
A perforated pipe with clean out access points is placed in the trench and covered with gravel to prevent the system from clogging. The gradual slope directs the water to a sump pump liner, and a sump pump discharges the water to the outside of your home or business.
A waterproof drainage board is place 1 1/2 rows up your block wall concealing and protecting the weep holes and floor while draining any and all water from both the walls and underneath the floor.
The floor is then resealed with concrete and a complete cleanup of the work area is completed with another solid solution to your wet basement.
Many homeowners have encountered the frustrating problem of basements that have cracks in the foundation walls causing stubborn leaks that find a way into your home. Solid Foundation Systems permanent solution to your leaking crack is done the solid superior way, from the outside, permanently sealing the crack while adding proper drainage to your outside foundation wall and protecting it from further decay and water seepage.
